Exfoliation

Chemical exfoliations enjoy great popularity in medical and aesthetic dermatology nowadays. Their active substance bases vary, just like the reasons for the exfoliation treatment. Various naturally occurring substances like lactic acid, citric acid, malic or tartaric acid, sugar cane juice (glycolic acid) and salicylic acid are used for this purpose.

A fruit acid exfoliation stimulates the skin renewal and collagen production, removes surface skin scales and mitigates pigmentation. This leads to an even and clear complexion.

Apart from the aesthetic improvement of the complexion, exfoliations are also commonly used for treating inflammatory skin diseases (e.g. acne, rosacea). They in that case supplement other therapy methods (e.g. cremes and/or pills). Private health insurances often bear the costs for the exfoliations in such cases.

An exfoliation treatment with fruit acid usually comprises six to eight applications every two to four weeks.

A fruit acid exfoliation is preceded by a physician’s medical examination and conducted by one of our experienced medical cosmeticians. The treatment is attuned to your individual concerns (mild acne scars, impure skin, rosacea, tired-looking skin) and skin type.
